In Roadmap Loyalty, customers can redeem points for free products, samples, or bundles. Just like discounts, redemptions are codeless — customers select the reward in the cart or checkout, and Roadmap automatically adds the free item to their order.

1. Redeeming in the Cart

  • Customers see a “Redeem Points” dropdown or card in the cart.
  • If you’ve set up free products or bundles as rewards, those options appear alongside discounts.
  • When selected, Roadmap automatically adds the product or bundle to the cart with the correct price override ($0).

👉 Example: A customer redeems 1,500 points for a free tote bag. The tote bag is instantly added to the cart at no charge.

2. Redeeming at Checkout

  • Customers can also redeem free product rewards directly in checkout.
  • They select the reward from the checkout dropdown, and the product/bundle is automatically added before payment.

3. How It Works Behind the Scenes

  • Roadmap automatically creates and applies the necessary discount + product add in Shopify.
  • The product (or bundle) appears as a line item in the cart and order summary.

4. What Happens if Checkout Isn’t Completed

  • If the customer redeems a free product but abandons checkout:
    • The free item is removed from the cart.
    • The redeemed points are instantly returned to the customer’s balance.
