How do I edit a customer’s subscription as a merchant?

Introduction

As a merchant, you can edit any customer’s subscription directly from your admin. Whether they need to update their delivery frequency, change products, pause an upcoming order, or cancel entirely — you have full control.

Here’s how to view, update, and manage any subscription.

Step 1: Find the customer’s subscription

  1. Go to your Roadmap Admin → Subscriptions → Manage Subscriptions.
  2. Use the search bar to find the customer by name or email.
  3. Click on the relevant subscription to open its detail view.

Step 2: Edit subscription details

Inside the subscription view, you can:

✅ Change delivery frequency

  • Use the dropdown to select a new interval (e.g. every 2 weeks → every 1 month).

✅ Reschedule the next order

  • Choose a new date for the upcoming delivery.

✅ Pause or resume the subscription

  • Temporarily stop future orders, and resume at any time.

✅ Cancel the subscription

  • End the subscription entirely — no further orders will be created.

Step 3: Edit products or quantities

You can also:

  • Add or remove products from the subscription
  • Change the quantity of an item
  • Swap a product for a different variant (if applicable)

Changes will apply to the next scheduled order and all future ones.

Step 4: Trigger a manual order

Need to send a product immediately?

  • Click “Order Now” to process a manual charge and shipment using the customer’s saved details.
  • Great for replacing missed orders or handling special cases.

Step 5: Handle failed subscriptions

If the subscription status is Failed (due to payment issues):

  • Review the dunning status (retry attempts)
  • Retry the charge manually
  • Update the customer’s payment info if needed
  • Mark as resolved or failed based on the outcome

FAQs

Can I change pricing for a specific customer’s subscription?

Yes — adjust the product price directly in the subscription view. It won’t affect other customers.

Can I edit prepaid subscriptions?

You can reschedule, pause, or cancel prepaid plans, but changing quantity or duration may require canceling and re-creating the subscription.

Will the customer be notified of changes?

Only if your Klaviyo or Shopify notifications are configured for subscription events. You can also message them manually.
