Introduction
With Roadmap, you don’t need to manually tag customers to segment them. Instead, you can use the Tag Library to create rules that automatically group customers into segments based on their behavior, spend, location, or membership status.
These segments can then be used to control access in your store, personalize promotions, or sync with Klaviyo for marketing campaigns.
How to Segment Customers with Tag Library
- Open Roadmap → Tag Library → Create Rule
- From your Shopify admin, go to Apps → Roadmap → Tag Library → Create Rule.
- Choose “Customer” Eligibility
- Select conditions for who qualifies, such as:
- Logged-in customers
- Customers with previous orders
- Customers from specific countries
- Members or non-members
- Customers who meet spend/activity thresholds (e.g. VIPs, reviewers)
- Decide What the Rule Controls
- Apply the segment to:
- Products or collections (e.g., only VIPs can access)
- Pages (e.g., secret page for members)
- Promotions (e.g., free gift for high spenders)
- Save the Rule
- Once saved, Roadmap automatically applies the rule to all existing and new customers who meet the conditions.
