How do I approve, reject, or edit reviews?

Introduction

Roadmap gives you full control over which reviews appear on your storefront. You can choose to approve, reject, or edit reviews before they go live — or enable auto-publish rules to publish reviews automatically above a certain star rating.

1. Approving Reviews

• If auto-publish is disabled, all reviews enter the Pending state.
• To approve:
  1. Go to Roadmap → Reviews → Moderation.
  2. Find the pending review.
  3. Click Approve.
• Once approved, the review will appear on the associated product’s PDP (and on grouped products if using Shared Reviews).

👉 Best for ensuring only on-brand or accurate reviews appear on your site.

2. Rejecting Reviews

• If a review doesn’t meet your standards (spam, inappropriate, off-topic), you can reject it.
• To reject:
  1. In the Moderation tab, select the review.
  2. Click Reject.
• Rejected reviews are stored in your admin but will never appear publicly.

👉 Use this to prevent harmful or irrelevant content from being published.

3. Editing Reviews

• Admins can also edit review content if necessary (typos, formatting, or to redact sensitive info).
• To edit:
  1. Open the review in moderation or the review list.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Update the text, star rating (optional), or photo attachments.
• Save changes — the updated review will display on the storefront.

👉 Editing should be used carefully — ideally only to fix typos or remove sensitive info, not to change customer sentiment.

4. Auto-Publish by Star Threshold

• You can choose to automatically approve reviews at or above a minimum star rating.
• Example: Set threshold to 4★ and above → 4- and 5-star reviews publish immediately, while 3★ or lower go into moderation.
• Configure this in Roadmap → Reviews → Settings → Auto-Publish.

• Can I edit star ratings left by customers?
  • Yes, but it’s best practice to leave ratings untouched unless correcting a mistake.
• Can I unpublish a review after it’s live?
  • Yes — simply reject or edit it at any time from the Reviews admin.
• Can I bulk-approve reviews?
  • Yes — select multiple reviews in the moderation queue and approve all at once.
• Do imported reviews need approval?
  • Yes — all imported reviews must be manually approved before showing.
