How do I edit or delete an existing GWP or discount?

Introduction

Once you’ve created a Gift With Purchase (GWP) or discount promotion in Roadmap, you may need to update its conditions, swap the gift, or remove it entirely. Roadmap makes this simple — you can edit, duplicate, or delete promotions at any time.

Editing a Promotion

1. Go to Roadmap → GWP & Discounts
   • From your Shopify admin, open Apps → Roadmap → GWP & Discounts.
2. Find the Promotion
   • Browse or search for the promotion you want to change.
3. Click “Edit”

• Adjust any settings:
  • • Conditions (spend threshold, product triggers, combos).
    • Gift product (swap for a new variant).
    • Customer eligibility.
    • Scheduling (start/end dates, fallback).
  • Discount/benefit details.

1. Save Changes
   • Roadmap automatically updates the promotion and any linked Shopify discounts in the background.
   • Customers will see the new version immediately.

Deleting a Promotion

1. Go to Roadmap → GWP & Discounts.
2. Locate the promotion you want to remove.
3. Click “Delete.”
4. Confirm the deletion.

👉 Once deleted:

• The promotion will no longer apply in your store.
• Any associated Shopify discount created by Roadmap will also be cleaned up automatically.

Duplicating a Promotion (Optional)

• Instead of starting from scratch, you can duplicate an existing promotion.
• Then edit the copy to adjust conditions or gifts.

👉 Example: Duplicate a “Spend $100 → Free Tote” rule and change it to “Spend $200 → Free Candle.”

Best Practices

• Name promotions clearly → e.g. “Spend $150 – Candle (VIP Only)” so you know exactly what it does later.
• Test changes with a dummy cart → confirm gifts/discounts apply correctly after edits.
• Avoid leaving unused Shopify discounts → deleting from Roadmap also cleans them from Shopify automatically.

  • Yes — edits take effect as soon as you save them.

  • The free gift or discount will stop applying instantly, and the linked Shopify discount is removed.
