How do referrals interact with loyalty points and rewards?

Introduction

Referrals in Roadmap are fully integrated with the Loyalty program. This means customers can earn referral rewards and loyalty points at the same time, without conflicts or extra setup.

How It Works

1. Friend places their first order
   • The referee gets their referral reward (discount or points).
   • The order also earns loyalty points if your store has purchase earning rules enabled.
2. Referrer gets rewarded
   • The referrer gets their referral reward (discount or points) once the order is confirmed.
   • If the reward is points, they’re added instantly to their loyalty balance.
3. Both sides remain in the loyalty program
   • Referral participants keep earning points and redeeming rewards as normal.

👉 Example:

• Ben uses Alice’s referral code.
• Ben gets $15 off his first order of $100+.
• Ben also earns 100 loyalty points on that purchase.
• Alice gets 500 loyalty points for the referral.
