FAQ: How do I collect photo or video reviews?

Introduction

Visual reviews are one of the strongest forms of social proof. Shoppers trust reviews with photos (and soon videos) much more than text alone. Roadmap Reviews currently supports photo uploads, allowing customers to attach product images directly to their review.

Collecting Photo Reviews

Enable photo uploads

• • Go to Roadmap → Reviews → Review Form → Question
  • Add 'question type' photo uploads.

Customers upload photos

• • On the review form (PDP or dedicated review page), customers can upload one or more images with their review.
  • Photos are stored and displayed alongside the text and star rating (optional).

Admin moderation

• • You can approve, reject, or hide photos during the review moderation process.
  • Only approved reviews/photos will appear publicly. This gives you control over what media displays on your storefront.

Video Reviews

• 🚧 Not yet supported. Roadmap currently allows photo uploads only.
• ✅ Video review support is planned as a future enhancement.

Why Use Photo Reviews?

• Authenticity → Real customer images make reviews more credible.
• Conversion boost → Shoppers are more likely to make a purchase when they see real-life product use.
• Content marketing → Photos collected through reviews can also be repurposed for ads, emails, or social campaigns (with permission).

Common Questions

• Can customers upload multiple photos?
  • No. Multiple uploads are not supported in a single review.
• Do I need to approve photos before they go live?
  • Yes. All photo reviews can be moderated like text reviews.
• Are video reviews supported?
  • Not yet. Only photo uploads are currently supported.
• Do photo reviews work with shared reviews?
  • Yes. If the review is shared across products, the photo (s) will also display there.
